What is Dysport?
Dysport is similar to Botox. Dysport is a neuromodulator known to help relax the muscles in the face. Dysport uses smaller protein molecules than Botox, which means it spreads more easily under your skin. With the facial muscles relaxed and unable to contract, surface wrinkles are diminished. This is also great because it will help prevent any new wrinkles from forming. What is Dysport Used For?
Dysport is approved and especially known for treating the stubborn frown, or “11” lines, between the brows. These lines can become deeper and more pronounced as we stress and contract the muscles, resulting in lines even when the face is at rest. We want to help you avoid that! Who wants to look angry all the time? Also, Dysport is especially common for treating smile lines around the eyes (AKA Crow’s Feet) and wrinkles in the forehead. Repetitive expressions, such as squints and smiles cause these wrinkles to form over time. These increase and deepen with age as we lose elasticity of the skin. Dysport can treat all these areas as well, resulting in smoother, fresher, younger looking skin. Who wouldn’t want that?
How Long Does the Treatment Take?
Dysport is injected with a very fine needle and no pain or numbing medication is needed. A single treatment typically takes 15-20 minutes, and you can get right back to your day afterwards. Patients can come in before work, on a lunch break, or any time during the day since there is no recovery or downtime needed.
How Long Does Dysport Last?
Dysport treatments are temporary in treating wrinkles with results in as little as 2-3 days (and full results in 14 days). According to Dysport, one treatment can last up to 5 months; however, some patients do not need an additional treatment for up to 8 months.
