What is Restylane?
Restylane is a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid, a chain of sugars found naturally in your skin. Hyaluronic acid absorbs water to plump up the skin beneath the surface and smooth out wrinkles. Restylane products are ideal for targeting superficial to moderate facial wrinkles, filling in hollow temples and even slightly shaping the nose. Restylane Lyft can also be used to restore a youthful appearance to aging hands.
What are the Different Types of Restylane?
KYSSE is the newest Restylane lip filler and is designed with XpresHAn Technology for flexible movement and natural-looking volume proven to last for up to 1 year. KYSSE will enhance the texture and color of the lips while maintaining a full range of expressions.
Lyft is the firmest of the Restylane products and is often used to add volume to cheeks and temples or fill in deep wrinkles. Lyft can also be used to fill hollows on your hands or to subtly re-shape your nose, as an alternative to rhinoplasty.
Restylane, the company’s flagship product, is often used to tackle moderate folds around your mouth and nose (marionette lines) and to plump thin lips.
Silk is super smooth and soft, often use to firm thin lips, while preserving suppleness.
Defyne is used for mild to moderate wrinkles around your eyes and mouth.
Refyne is used for fine lines around your eyes and mouth.
What is the Procedure Like?
Restylane administration can take between 20 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated. The dermal filler is injected as a gel, via tiny needles, and you may feel a brief stick as the needle goes in and a slight pressure as the filler is applied. You may have redness or slight soreness at the injection site, but you can return to work or other activities immediately.
How Long Does Restylane Last?
Restylane products can last anywhere from six to 18 months, depending on the area being treated.
Anything Else I Should Know About Getting Restylane?
Restylane is for adults, over the age of 21, who are not pregnant. Restylane has not been tested on pregnant women. If you like, you can bring a photo of your younger self to your Restylane appointment to demonstrate the results you are hoping to achieve. You should avoid all NSAIDS (aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil) for 5 days prior to procedure to minimize any possibility of bruising. Eating pineapple, taking Bromelain or Arnica supplements is also helpful.
